England vs Pakistan Warm Up Live Streaming
South African connection: Kevin Pietersen and Jonathan Trott added 52, South Africa v England, 2nd Twenty20, Centurion, November 15, 2009
Kevin Pietersen's aggressive intent at the top can offset Jonathan Trott's more obdurate methods at No. 3 © PA Photos

"I love it when a plan comes together" was the favourite catchphrase of The A-Team's Hannibal Smith, and would invariably be uttered shortly after the fearsome foursome had battled their way out of yet another awkward situation, using a tank fashioned from a disused pram, a sheet of corrugated iron, a ream of knicker elastic and a box of matches.
England's World Cup campaigners would dearly love to find themselves uttering those same words in Mumbai in six weeks' time, but right at this moment in time, they look to be several spare parts short of a viable getaway plan.
Andy Flower, whose fingerprints are all over the Pietersen decision, is another who led from the front in that 1996 tournament, and though his returns for Zimbabwe were disappointing on that occasion, it did not detract from the logic of the tactic. In the absence of Morgan, KP has reverted to being England's most potent batting option, and when in Asia, your star player is best off leading from the front, when the ball is at its hardest and most likely to ping the fence with the Powerplay fields in place. Neil Smith, who tried and failed at No. 1 for England 15 years ago, was used in a similar vein, but without the small matter of seven ODI centuries and 3500 runs as proof of his credentials.

ICC satisfiedof work at Eden Garden world Cup 2011
he ICC has given a cautious nod to Eden Gardens' bid to host the remaining three World Cup matches scheduled there, apart from the India-England game, saying that it is "encouraged" by the progress made towards completing the necessary construction work.
"We are pleased with the progress made since January 25, and if that pace of work is maintained, we believe that the stadium will be ready for the games scheduled in March," Haroon Lorgat, the ICC chief executive said.
Eden Gardens is slated to host group-stage matches between South Africa and Ireland on March 15, Ireland and Netherlands on March 18, and Kenya and Zimbabwe on March 20.
The ICC had ruled out holding the February 27 match between Indian and England at Eden Gardens after an inspection on January 27 found several major works incomplete. That match was moved to Bangalore, and it was decided that a later inspection would be held to assess whether Eden Gardens could host the other three matches scheduled to be played there.

Sehwag told Indian news channel
"I was feeling some pain in my shoulder," Sehwag told Indian news channel CNN-IBN. "So [I thought it was] better to quit the South Africa one-dayers. I didn't want to get injured in South Africa tour and miss the World Cup. So I came back and went to Germany to see a couple of doctors. I got a couple of injections and now I'm fine.
"I am going to the National Cricket Academy [in Bangalore] and will spend a couple of days there, to check everything - if I can bowl and throw also but if I can't, then I'll let them know. But yes, at the moment I'm fully fit."
Sehwag is wary of the opening game against Bangladesh, who had derailed India's 2007 World Cup campaign with a shock win. "Because we're playing the opening game against them in Bangladesh, Bangladeshi people are expecting them to beat us again. But this time we have to prepare well … You can say it is a revenge game for us and we won't take the game lightly. We will give our best shot and we will come hard on Bangladesh."

But this time we have to prepare well … You can say it is a revenge game for us and we won't take the game lightly. We will give our best shot and we will come hard on Bangladesh."
Shahid Afridi named World Cup 2011
Afridi has been Pakistan's ODI captain over the last year but, just before the ongoing New Zealand tour, a number of key players and team management officials raised concerns with the board over his captaincy. The development placed the board in a quandary, caught between players and the captain, ultimately compelling them to delay the announcement of a leader.
PCB chairman Ijaz Butt travelled earlier this week to New Zealand, where the team has just recorded its first one-day series win in more than two years, to hold discussions with Afridi, senior players and management officials over who should lead the side.
"I had detailed discussions with team management and players in New Zealand regarding captain and vice captain," Butt said, "and am pleased to state that everyone fully endorsed these decisions.
